四川外语学院重庆南方翻译学院是一所纳入国家普通高等教育招生计划、经教育部确认的独立本科学院。学院毗邻重庆江北国际机场，离重庆市中心15公里，由迎宾花园大道和城市快速干道与市中心连接，交通方便、环境清幽、空气清新。
学院占地一千余亩，设计规模宏伟，目前在校生人数已达一万人。校舍建筑面积26万余平方米，其中，教学行政用房10万平方米，学生公寓12万平方米。拥有2.4万平方米的标准田径运动场和1.7万平方米的图书馆。学院建设了综合信息校园网，实现了办公自动化、教学多媒体化、信息互联网化。
学院拥有一支教学经验丰富，科研能力强，实力雄厚的老、中、青优秀骨干教师及多名外教构成的师资队伍。学院成立由知名专家组成的教育督导团指导教学工作，保证了教学质量。素质优良的管理队伍和后勤队伍为教学、为师生提供了一流的服务。
学院现设有翻译系、经贸系、管理系、亚欧语言系、旅游系、艺术系和国际商务系、基础部等8个教学系（部），开设英语、日语、德语、国际新闻、国际经济与贸易、工程管理、空中服务、房地产经营与估价、汽车技术服务与营销、艺术设计、美术学、音乐表演等40个专业及方向，面向全国31个省（区、市）招生。学院是重庆市高等教育自学考试（外国语言文学类）助学示范园区，开设有英语、法律等多种本科自学班。
学院依托四川外语学院教学、科研的雄厚实力，利用学院一流的现代化教学手段，致力于培养通外语、精专业、重实践的高素质复合型人才。学生修完学院规定的课程并获得应修学分，将发给由教育部统一印制、网上电子注册、国家认可的四川外语学院重庆南方翻译学院全日制普通本科（或专科）毕业证书，符合学士学位授予条件的本科生，经本人申请，按国务院学位委员会和学校的有关规定，颁发四川外语学院学士学位证书。
学生毕业后，由学院推荐、双向选择，自主就业，为加强对学生的就业指导，学院设立了就业指导办公室，建立了房地产、酒店和航空服务等多门类学生就业实习基地，05、06年两届毕业生以其通外语、精专业的复合型人才，受到用人单位的青睐，一次就业率达85%以上。

Brief Introduction to CNTC
Approved by Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, Chongqing Nanfang Translators College (CNTC) under Sichuan International Studies University (SISU), was jointly set up in November 2001 by SISU and Chongqing South Group Co., Ltd and is entitled to carry out the state enrolment plan of general higher education as an independent college with under-graduate programs, confirmed by China Ministry of Education .In December 2004, CNTC was conferred the title “Advanced Nongovernmental Organization in China” by China Ministry of Civil Administration .CNTC, adjacent to Jiangbei International Airport of Chongqing , has easy traffic with highways and expressways leading to the city proper 15 kilometers away and enjoys fresh air in the quiet and beautiful environment.
CNTC has a broad scale design and a great sum of planned investment , covering an area of 66.9 hectares large enough for 20,000 students, but only with a present student population of 10,000.The gross floors area of the campus is 260,000 square meters, in which 100,000 square meters are used for teaching and administration purpose and 120.000 square meters for student dorms,24,000 square meters for a standard track and field sports ground and 17,000 square meters for a library. The college has set up a comprehensive information campus web, having realized office automation, multi-media teaching and internet information.
CNTC has a strong battalion of best and experienced teachers, old, middle-aged and young, including a dozen of foreign teachers, who are qualified in teaching and research work. A superintend-and-direct group composed of noted experts has been organized to direct and supervise teaching work. The qualified administration and logistic work offer first-class service to the teachers and students.
There are now , in CNTC eight departments: Translation Studies, Economy and Trade, Management, Tourism, Asian-European Languages, International Business, Arts and Basic Courses, offering forty specialties and orientations: English, Japanese, German, International News, International Economics ＆ Trade, Project Management , Air service, Management and Price Estimation of Real Estate, Automobile Technical Service and Marketing, Art Design, Research of Fine Arts and Music Performance. Apart form all these, CNTC has begun running English and Law classes of undergraduate programs for self-taught students, hence the Model of Teach –yourself Examination (Foreign Languages and Literatures )in Chongqing Higher Education .At present ,there are about 10,000 regular students at CNTC from 31 provinces, cities or autonomous regions.
With the competent staff members in teaching and research work, by making full use of the first-class modernized teaching facilities, CNTC is striving to develop more qualified and versatile professionals, who have a good command of foreign Languages, get the mastery of specialties and lay stress on practical work. Those who have finished studying the courses required by CNTC and obtained the required credits, will get the Graduation Certificate of CNTC, printed by China Ministry of Education, electronically registered on internet web and recognized by the state as regular full-time graduates or three-year grogram graduates and those qualified graduates of four –year program will get the Certificate of B.A.issued by SISU after application as per the regulations concerned.
An Employment Advisory Office has been set up to help students with their placement and job-hunting and a Probation Base has been established for the students, whose orientations are Real Estate , Hotel and Air Service. The graduates in 2005 and 2006 have already been chosen by some organizations with a placement rate of 85% because of their good command of foreign languages and complete mastery of their specialties.
