广东建设职业技术学院是经广东省人民政府批准的全日制的高等院校。属大学专科层次，主要培养适应建筑业和社会发展需要的生产第一线的实用型、创新型高级技术和管理人才。
环境优美，设施完善。学院位于广州市白云区广花二路638号。校园占地面积6万m2，建筑面积6.5万多m2，在校生3500多名，教职工300多名。教学楼、实验楼、图书馆、体育馆、计算中心、网络中心、语言中心、校内实训基地配套齐全。还建有400m环形跑道的田径场和各种类型的运动场地，能满足学生运动的需要。学生宿舍为公寓式宿舍，有独立的卫生间和冲凉房，均配有200电话，接通宽带网，管理规范，安全文明。
师资雄厚，教学具有特色。学院师资队伍专业配套、结构合理、素质优良。有专任教师140多名，其中高级职称、中级职称的专任教师分别占到40%和50%，有专业经验的实习实训指导教师20多人，还聘请了一支拥有教授、高级工程师等高级职称的兼职教师队伍。
广大教师注重改革教学内容、教学方法、教学手段、考核方法，积极运用电化教学、计算机辅助教学、多媒体教学和远程网络教学等先进的教学手段，树立了“以知识为基础，以职业技能为本位”的教学指导思想，形成了适应市场经济发展的职业教学模式。学院经省劳动厅批准，成立了广东省建筑业职业技能鉴定站和广东省建筑职业技能培训中心，可以对建筑行业30多个工种初、中、高、技师等级进行培训和鉴定，为学生考取“双证”（毕业证书、行业资格证书）提供了良好的条件。
专业设置适应需求，学生管理严格规范。学院开设了建筑工程与管理、工程监理、楼宇设备与智能化技术、建筑电气技术与设备、建筑水电设备安装、环境监测与治理、环境艺术与室内设计、家具设计制造与室内装饰、城镇园林工程、信息管理与计算机应用（网络工程方向）、信息管理与计算机应用、工程造价与财务管理、物业管理等二十四个专业。
学院重视学生的素质教育，营造了一个文明高雅、积极向上的校园文化环境，形成了良好的校风、学风。学院毕业生就业指导中心，积极与企业联系，常年为学生就业服务，使毕业生能顺利地走向工作岗位。
作为一所新兴的高等院校，学院将加大投入力度，加强基础设施建设。新建了1.1万m2的实验、实训大楼、7000m2的学生宿舍，每年还将投入500万元建设一批先进的实验室和实习、实训基地，为提高学生的专业实践能力和综合技术运用能力创造条件。将征地250亩，扩大学院的规模，把学院办成高水平、高质量的职业技术学院。

Brief Introduction to Guangdong Construction Vocational Technology Institute
Guangdong Construction Vocational Technology Institute, a three-year higher education institute, is a full-time college approved by People's Government of Guangdong Province,. It mainly endeavors to foster practical and creative senior technicians and administrators at worksite who are needed by the development of construction industry.
Located on 638 Guanghua Road, Baiyun District, Guangzhou, the institute has elegant environment and complete facilities. It covers an area of 60000㎡ and the floor space totals more than 65000㎡. There are more than 3500 on-campus students and more than 300 teachers and staff. The institute has teaching buildings, lab buildings, library, gymnasium, computer center, network center, language center, practical teaching base. It also has 400-meter-long track field and other kinds of sports playground to meet the needs of students for sports. The student accommodations are apartment buildings with a bathroom. The apartment buildings are equipped with 200-IC telephones and ADSL on-line service. The accommodations are under normal management and are safe and sound.
The teachers are strongly qualified and the teaching is featured. The teaching staff is a team with different kinds of professions. The institute has a reasonable teaching construction and the teachers are of fine qualities. There are more than 140 full-time teachers, 40% of whom have senior titles and 50% intermediate titles. More than 20 professional teachers have practical training experiences, there is also a part-time teaching team composed of professors, advanced engineers and senior- titled teachers.
All the teachers attach great importance to the reform of teaching contents, teaching methods, and checking methods. They are active in using audio-visual education, CAI, multi-media education, long-distance on-line education and other advanced teaching ways. Having set up the teaching instruction notion of “ knowledge teaching is the basis, vocational ability cultivation is the core unit”, the teaching staff formed the vocational teaching model adapting to the development of the market economy. Under the permission of Labor Department of Guangdong Province, the institute has established a Construction Professional Assessment Center and a Construction Technical Training Center of Guangdong Province which can provide certificates (senior, junior and primary certificates) and training for technicians of more than 30 types of work in construction industry, and provide fine facilities for the students to gain “double certificates”(graduation certificate and professional skill certificate).
The institute offers majors according to market demand and manages the students normally and strictly. It has 24 majors, namely Construction Engineering and Management, Project Supervision, Building Facility and Intellectualized Engineering, Electric Technology and Equipment for Construction, Installation of Water Supply and Drainage and Electric System, Environment Monitoring and Protect, Environment art and Interior Decoration, Furniture Design and Interior Decoration, City Gardening Engineering, Computer Application and Maintenance (Network Engineering Oriented), Information Management and Computer Application, Construction Cost and Financial Management, Property Management, and so on.
The institute stresses on quality education and creates a polite, elegant and positive campus culture atmosphere, and forms a fine school atmosphere and study atmosphere. The Employment Guidance Center actively communicates with the enterprises and provides all-year-round service for the graduates, which makes the students smoothly get to their working posts.
As a new institute, Guangdong Construction Vocational Technology Institute has reinforced the input into infrastructure. A newly built practical training building and a student accommodation cover 11000 ㎡and 7000㎡ respectively. The institute will invest RMB￥5,000,000 yearly to construct a series of labs and practical teaching bases in order to provide fine quality facilities for improving students’ professional practical abilities and comprehensive technology application abilities. The institute also plans to ask for a piece of land of 250 mu to enlarge the institute scale, and try to become a professional vocational institute with great standards and high qualities.
The institute will carry on the excellent education traditions and in accordance with the requirements of the important “Three-Representative Theory” it will also push forward the reform and construction.
