上饶职业技术学院是经江西省人民政府批准成立、国家教育部备案的一所普通专科层次的全日制高等职业技术学院（公办）。学院座落在上饶市近郊，占地面积758亩，建筑面积12万平方米。依山傍水，清静幽雅，蕴江南园林之灵气，富人文精神之内涵，是理想的求学园地。
学院开设了国家统招大专、国家统招五年一贯制大专、国家统招普通中专、技工培养、成人本科教育等五个教学层次；设有电子工程系、机械工程系、信息工程系、管理工程系、艺术体育系及上饶职院婺源分院；有各类在籍学生7500余人。学院现有专任教师259人，其中副高级职称以上的教师54人；建有各类实验室32个，教学仪器设备总值达到1600万元，图书馆藏书13 万册，建有校外实习基地32家，为实践教学环节提供了良好的条件。
学院确定了“学校有特色，专业有特点，学生有特长”的办学理念, 以“方正、宏大、精深、和谐”为主题，要求学生以方正身心养德守、树宏大志向效国家、学精深技艺立功业、创和谐环境谋发展，真正做到让学生成才，让家长放心、让社会满意。学院实行开放式办学，封闭式管理，江西省预备役师炮兵旅指挥连的官兵参与我院学生管理，并负责安全保卫工作。学院鼓励学生接受更高层次的教育。我院每年有5%的专升本名额，应届大专毕业生经考试合格后可进入高等本科院校学习，并获得普通高校本科文凭。
由于学院办学成果显著，中华人民共和国劳动和社会保障部在我院设立了OSTA计算机信息技术考试站、国家职业技能鉴定所。 学院根据“加强基础，注重实践，强化技能，优化素质”的教育原则，对学生实行“四证制”（毕业证、英语等级证、计算机等级证及专业技术等级证），有效地拓宽了学生的就业渠道，增强了学生的社会竞争力。
学院大力发展订单教育，与国内80多个知名企业建立了长期合作关系。历届毕业生凭借扎实的理论基础、过硬的专业技能、务实的工作作风，受到用人单位的普遍好评。就业率达到了98%以上。
Established in 2004 on the basis of amalgamation of several colleges,Shangrao Vocational and Technical College (SVTC)was approved and accredited by Jiangxi Provincial Government and filed under State Ministry of Education as a state-owned full-time college,covering an area of more than 500 thousand square meters, with the total floorage of 120 thousand square meters.Sited in the north suburb of Shangrao city and at the foot of Lingshan MT, SVTC has a picturesque garden-style campus abundant with the connotation of the humanistic spirit. Its tranquility makes it a paradise for intellectual pursuit.
SVTC has developed into a five-level higher education system offering courses for state-sanctioned full-time junior college students, state-sanctioned five-year junior college system students, state-sanctioned secondary vocational school students, mechanic students and adult undergraduates.
SVTC is comprised of the following five departments and a branch, namely, Department of Mechanical Engineering,Department of Electronic Engineering, Department of Information Engineering,Department of Agriculture and Forestry Engineering, Department of Art and P.E,Wuyuan Branch,with full-time teaching staff of 259, among whom are 12 professors and 42 associate professors, and full-time students of over 7500 . Being well-equipped with the teaching and practical facilities amounting to RMB16 million yuan,SVTC has set up 32 laboratories and training centers including a wide diversity of disciplines,along with 32 off-campus training and practice bases , and a library with a collection of 130,000 volumes as well, which is of great benefit to students'practical competency
Our college adheres to the conception of 'ensuring special accomplishments in school administration, teaching methodology and student learning', with 'more integrity, broad knowledge,profound expertise and harmonious environment'' as its theme, requiring the students to cultivate the virtue of integrity, improve their professional skills ,and build up a human-friendly environment so as to produce various qualified professionals for the socialist drive.It is our long-held conception to turn out qualified professionals to live up to the expectations of parents and the society as a whole.
Approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of PRC, our college has founded OSTA Computer Technology Testing Station, State Vocational Skills Appraisal Agency owing to the achievements we have gained. In accordance with our educational guideline, that is,to be well-grounded , to be practice-oriented,to be more skillful and to be optimized the integral qualities. SVTC has been successful in offering students “Quad-certificates”(ie a diploma, certificates of English pets, national computer rank examination and vocational skill ) aiming to intensify the students'competitiveness and provide them more opportunities.The scheme of teaching and training is focused on the needs of the labor market, thus ,our graduates are well-received in the labor market for their solid foundation ,perfect professional skill and positive attitude toward their careers.We boast an employment rate of 98 per cent, so far we have established long-term cooperative relations with 80 renowned enterprises inland.
